Go to Nevada, go toward Nellis AFB, North from Las Vegas on Highway 93, West
on Route 375 for about 18 miles, at Hancock Summit head West toward Bald
Mountain on a dirt road for about 10-15 miles...

...then you have gone too far.
The best time/day to check it out is never/no-time... I know that
that sounds wimpy but I really think you had better find a quiet place to
think about how the various worst-case scenarios might effect you personally
before you attempt this kind of field trip...
